For over 20 years (good grief!), Zeppa Studios has been designing and producing unique and whimsical animal themed giftware and accessories featuring original artwork by studio founder, M. K. Zeppa. M. K., (short for Melissa Kaye) a dog and horse fancier since birth, graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honors from Wellesley College and holds an MFA from Pratt Institute.

Zeppa Studios makes all of our products to order for you in our Hawk Creek Farm Studio complex in Pearisburg, VA. We stock the blank canvases and allow you to select from a huge array of design and customizing possibilities. It can be daunting at first, but it is our way of ensuring your gift (even if it is for yourself) is truly unique. Shops can also commission pieces that are unique to their place of
business...just contact the Studio for details on pricing for larger custom projects. Always remember to allow enough time when ordering for our artists and crafts people to create your selections.

Inspiration for many of M. K.'s designs comes from her beloved Lab Assistants, Snake, his nephew Hawk and the late, great Grandpa Gator. The Assistants are currently training our latest addition, Tater, to answer your e-mails, provide security and warm feet around the Studio. He’s got a way to go yet.

The Lab Assistants also support animal rescue groups across the country with “Project Rescue” and donations of Zeppa products. These volunteer organizations (often a labor of love of just a few people) use the items for auctions, raffles or resale to raise badly needed money for food, vet visits, blankets, etc. for abandoned, abused or otherwise unfortunate animals. The Labs say “Homeless is a four letter word!”. Spelling never was their strong suit, but, then again, maybe they are right.
